Times flying and I've been making some big improvements despite being up to my eyeballs in books this semester.
Basics:
1998 Aurora White Diamond non-autobahn 137,001 miles (changed the oil the other day at 137K)
Options:
Aurora logo floor mats
Interior notes:
The dash was pretty bad so I pulled my dash cover off Roarah
Every fin on every air vent is intact and perfect! (Roarah didn't have a good vent in her)
2 cig burns in the headliner
Seats are in better shape overall
Everything works except the passenger rear window.
Exterior notes:
No rust anywhere
The body is in perfect shape minus bad paint (custom 2 tone paint job coming soon.)
What I've already replaced:
1. Well the mice chewed up the wires within days so I started with Magnecor 8.5 mm performance ignition wires.
2. New LCM ($270) and it wasn't even the problem!
3. Multi function switch - Bingo!($50) Thanks Randy...
4. The windshield was cracked and won't pass inspection. I found a perfect one for $60 out of a '96, it will be $65 to install next week
In case you're wondering - yes an Aurora windshield will fit in the back seat!
5. The tires on her were all cracked up and shot so I found what I am convinced are the best performance tires you can buy for these cars. How did I come to this conclusion? Simple really, I did some research and found the lightest weight tires out there. It's all about the static wheel weight. How much lighter? They only weigh 18 pounds each. Compare to what you're running on yours! Believe it or not these are around 10 pounds lighter than the average tire this size. SWEET. By the way, every tire balanced perfect without the need of a single wheel weight, all 4! The tire guy couldn't believe it so he checked them all twice. He couldn't remember when the last time he'd seen that. I'm also running with the center caps off. This isn't because of the weight, though every ounce surely counts - they simply look mean without them in my opinion. Randy thinks so too.
set of 4 Kelly Edge A/S 235/60R16 $400.00
6. I took the strut tower brace/traction bar off Roarah, & painted it red to match the new theme. (Roarah = white & blue, DV8R = white & red)
7. Cherry Bombs...oh ya think of the weight I'm knocking off with these, they weigh 1 pound each! They are the same size as my Hydro Flask. I'm keeping the cat & for now the resonator but I may straight pipe the resonator in the future. Check out those Genssi exhaust tips. They are actually muffled, and just a little fatter and longer than the OEM.
8. swapped hoods (custom ghost flame logo)
9. Gabriel highlander air shocks installed today
10. Found these nifty anodized Rocket valve stem caps!
11. pulled the dust covers off, replaced rear bulbs and painted the covers
12. And the best mod of all - a Stage 3 ECM tune
Upcoming mods:
Red engine hose kit
Pull Razzi side skirts off Roarah
Swap trunks with Roarah Lund spoiler)
Window tint
Ground wire mod
Night Shades (side lights)
TWO TONE PAINT! (with a twist - surprise!)
Pull Kenwood speakers from Roarah
Remember the blue night glow stripes on Roarah? Going red this time, specifically using it around the rear panel for a neon sign affect.
& many more of course
