Does anyone know how to remove the sunroof wind deflector? Mine broke on one side and doesn't let my sunroof close on its own. If anyone can please help me out I greatly appreciate it...

That's a good question. Is it a 2G or Classic? If it's a classic I can check the FSM when I get home later today and see if it has a procedure for it.

The 2G deflector has a tab on one of the corners. Hold the other corner down and push (gently) to that side to free the tab. Swing the deflector up 90o, then push the bottom rearward off of the hooks...

Apparently, I'm pretty bad at being specific... it's a second Gen lol Are there any pictures they can be posted of these tabs. I see two rivets holding it down on I don't know if that's the only location that is accessible from. This annoying little part has me confused LOL

Well, I don't have a pic, and it's dark thirty here, so...
Imagine you are standing up through the sunroof facing forward. The deflector connects to the assembly on your left, goes up and turns, goes across and turns, then goes back down and connects to the assembly on your right. These turns are "corners", one of them has a tab that hits the roof sheet metal and stops the deflector from coming up. Push down the corner opposite of the one with the tab, then gently push the leading edge of the deflector in that direction. This will give enough clearance for the tab to clear the sheet metal. Once the tab is clear, pull the deflector back into place, again gently, these things are brittle.
It will now pivot on it's mounting points. Stand it straight up and push rearward at the bottom, off of the mounting hooks. (It's kinda like a windshield wiper blade)

Tigger, you're the sh!t... I saw exactly what you were talking about and was able to take it off... Unfortunately, it's the little hook that broke and not the actual wind deflector. And to make it worse, it seems that the little piece is riveted to the frame of the sunroof frame...
Is the deflector absolutely necessary? Can't I get away with one of those plastic over the top deflector that go on with double-sided tape?

My deflector broke early in the life of my 2001 3.5L. I've been running without it for years (200,000 miles now) and I can't tell that there has been any subsequent problem with using the sunroof.
I mean some folks don't like the tilt OSRVM; some folks don't like the DRL; some folks don't like rain-sense wipers. In a sort of similar way for me, this falls in the category of not worth it to fix (plus if that small cross section of plastic has snapped like mine, I don't know how to fix it reliably anyway.)
Sunroof will operate just fine without it.
