As stubborn as I am, I had to throw in the towel. The color changing paint was giving me more problems than I ever imagined it would. It fought me every step of the way so I went with a new scheme. This is more inline with what I originally wanted. The chameleon paint is a little too flashy for me. I like flashy, and DV8R isn't lacking there, but I can't feel ridiculous while driving an Aurora! I have switched over to a simple silver. It looks good with the pearl white, has great coverage, and most importantly - it's shooting and drying like it should. I'm keeping the rear spoiler in flip flop/ color shift, as well as the 3 black plastic pieces on the doors. (triangle in front of the mirrors, center pillar post cover, and rear door triangle piece.) I haven't decided as I'm not there yet but I might do the side skirts in it too.

I'm sorry. (also a bit disappointed for your lost time & not getting to see that paint-work through to finish)
Is that metallic flake? Just wondering. I don't seem to see anything BUT pearl or metallic flake, anymore unless it's on an old beater... I suppose it's getting harder to keep the shine up on a good old-fashioned solid color, unless you do an old-school hand rubbed finish.

After stewing on this for a day I've decided that it's not the worst job in the world, and I can live with it. It's not perfect, but dang it looks 100 times better than it did before. Despite being half of the car, any paint shop is going to charge a full car paint job price as they'd want to take everything I've done away. With this in mind it just doesn't seem worth the cost. After a good hard hand washing I took her across town and wow she sure gets looks now! I still have to shoot the passenger side front fender and do some work on the roof.
