Hey Guys! Been working on our 1996 Aurora. It's light blue with the blue leather interior. Bought it used. Has higher mileage around 250000km on it. Been an interesting go so far. My folks have an 01 and it's a great car. Love ours too. Just a tough nut to crack. Has a little rust but very minor. Just a little behind the drivers rear wheel and underneath the plastic rocker infront of the passenger rear wheel. Just a little not a lot😊. Have a mig welder so I can git'r done😊 Trying my best track down the issue. It isn't using coolant. Yay!. I have changed out the plugs and checked the wires for the resistance values. Cleaned the idle air control valve and the throttle body. Changed out the fuel filter. Checked the EGR. Going to get the compression checked and if that checks out will get the injectors tested. Also changed out the rubber hosed non injection hose with the steel injector rail. All because of a P0300 random multiple misfire code.We also replaced the 4t80E because it was cheaper then fixing the Turbine speed sensor. Found a good tranny for 350. So I am a little frustrated to say the least but have come this far with it and want to see it through😊. Love driving it regardless!
Welcome to the club! Always use AC Delco or NGK plugs, they don't seem to like other ones much. When I get misfires it's usually the plugs or the wires. I have seen a couple with bad coil packs too. Just something to consider. Those misfires can be hard to track down sometimes.
Hey guys! I know it's been over a year. Since then I've replaced a coil along with the intake manifold gaskets and some various vacuum lines. Going to back the idle screw out a little to get rid of the idle speed high code. I now have a new problem. It will not go into 4th. It tries but jumps back into third. Fluid is clean and topped up. No trouble codes either. I tried pushing the power button and nothing happens. Could the button fail while keeping it in 3rd? Will try to adjust the shifter linkage to see if it makes a difference.thanks a lot for your help! Awesome board!
If it wasn't for the transmission giving me the gears lol. All I would have to do is a bake job along with the sunroof drains giving me a little rust damage to fix. Have a lead on some seats and heater knobs!
