Hello everyone,
I am wanting to add some double sided foam tape to the bottom/rear window edge of my rear LED brake light. I added some before breaking my neck in the summer but a segment of the tape let go and i have leaking light again reflecting off my back window. I have decided to remove the light and hope like hell i don't disturb the headliner when i do, I already have sagging issues on the brake light itself. How do I do that properly? Also speaking of sagging on the bottom of eh brake light, does anyone here have any ideas how to mend the material back to the surface it was once glued to? It bothers me every time i see if flapping in the wind in my rear view when i drive. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

It's on clips. Just pull straight down at the leading corners, unplug the wiring harness, then peel it off of the rear glass.
As for the fabric, it's a PITA! It's stapled all the way around the panel, so no easy way to get adhesive in there. May as well rip off the old, clean up the panel, and re-cover it with new headliner material.
FWIW, buy enough material to do the entire headliner. The rest will be falling soon enough, lol!

Quiet! Not so loud! My headliner it doing fine so far just a few cigarette burns from the previous owner. the material at the edge facing the rear windshield has ripped along that edge so there is a nice straight opening. By the leading edge you mean the edge towards the front of the car? is there a clip on each side just like when you take down your driver and passenger overhead lights/garage door/sunroof switches?

Nice picture I am diffidently finding that one! Thank you! I am debating on doing to now in the winter or wait until the summer. The 3M double sided foam tape I have says that is should be used in 18C. You didn't loose the black foam edge on the fixture when you pulled it off did you?

You didn't loose the black foam edge on the fixture when you pulled it off did you? No, no, the one in the pic isn't mine. It's from an Ebay listing, haha... Seller wants $150 for that raggedy POS.

18C is what, around 65F? Just crank the heat inside for about 10 minutes and maybe throw an electric blanket over the rear glass. It literally takes about thirty seconds to reinstall.
I would have to give it a try, stuff like that drives me crazy!
Your call though...

Honestly on headliners.... what a pain. The one on my third light is saging. Just like with my sunroof cover, Im gonna rip it off, sand it down, prime it, and paint it with some color matching paint. It actually looks nice because it makes it look like a piece of trim rather than part of the headliner(which accentuates pretty well)
