I have a 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora 3.5l twin cam new tires..new front left rotors and front brakes...new rear shocks...new serpentine belt exterior great condition tinted windows...inside is fair only the front driver door panel the leather is torn the rest of interior is good condition...new crankshaft as well and new P/S high pressure hose...the only thing wrong is transmission is going out it still runs and shifts great but with it being an internal problem and not the solinoids it's way to expensive to fix...wish I had the money to fix it I love this car but being a single mom and it being my only transportation I can not risk driving it with my son. Any offers I'll consider or even part it out will do. I have clean title and more info and pictures. Just let me know

Have you considered a used (salvage yard) trans? I know it's not ideal, but it could buy you enough time to gather the funds for a proper rebuild of yours.
Parting out a car is a long, laborious process. It sucks! And selling a 2001 w/ a bad trans whole won't bring much more than scrap value. Just seems like a waste after all you've done...
FWIW - Have you looked online for remanufactured 4T65-E?

I'm located in fort Walton Beach florida...yea I thought it was kind of odd about the fuel tank as well....I've been looking for parting it out...but was also told that most of the time people just want one or two things and then basically renders my car useless and then take the chance of no one needing anything else and then she is just scrap. Transmission are well mine in this case is one of the most expensive...because my car isn't popular...I'm like well where do I need to move lol where is this car more common? But everyone I know is in love with this car just as much as me I've never had a car that not only drives like a spaceship (when she was drivable) and driving 12 hrs straight only had to fill up one time then a half of tank. I'm looking for best options and open to ideas. |

How many miles on the car, if it low miles and otherwise in good shape it would be worth putting the trans in, otherwise there is really is only three choices drive it until it leaves you on the side of the road, while saving for a replacement. Sell it on craigslist for like 800 bucks as a disposable car with trans problems, or part it out and then call the scrap yard place and say junk car come and pick it up. I assume the 225 is for scrap weight in steal etc they won't care if half the parts are missing.

It has 169,303 and I just put brand new tires 800$ new serpentine belt 99$ new PS high pressure hose 155$ new crankshaft 65$ new rear shock 200$ new front left rotor and new front brakes 240$ and new fog lights 40$ and the only one I didn't do myself was high pressure hose |

When was the trans last serviced? Well I did a drain fill when I got it a yr ago and then another drain fill about a month maybe month and a half later other than that I'm not sure what the owners did |

No haven't tried Lucas I've never had a prob with the trans no leaks always shifted great the VSS I believe they checked at the transmission shop but maybe I'm wrong....the mechanic told me that she does great til in fourth gear then she loses power and once you hit fourth gear even slowing she loses her go and rpms are all the way in red |

Yes that is exactly what I figured as well lol everyone says to get a remanufactured trans and swap out but my trans guy told me yea it could work or it could render car useless his recommendation was to just rebuild mine since these trans are very specific but said if I wanted to go the route of a remanufactured one that he wouldn't have a prob doin it but couldn't guarantee it would work. If I decided to have mine rebuilt he has a 6yr warranty on it. He doesn't trust remanufactured places lol |

My TCC is throwing a code in the summer i am going to pay roughly $1000 to add new TCC, PCS and add a transgo shiftkit, mind you my transmission shifts rather well but i live way up north. When i went to New Orleans a few years ago as well as Florida this year I saw little to no 4t65e cars I imaging the summer heat cuts into them. I did see an intrigue however, put a smile on my face.  |

Yes I have only seen 3 of my 01 Aurora's all of them are no where near the condition mne is in the outside looks brand new and the inside just has normal wear n tear but very clean..the others I've seen are missing paint...dented to hell...rusted out because the salt water air of course eats paint...I on the other hand wash my car once a week just for that cause |

I was shocked last summer when i wiped the steering wheel that i took some finish off with just water and a microfiber trowel, so i just wipe the wheel genitally now with just one wipe.

Just one wipe? Your genital prowess is unsurpassed. On a serious note - Leather GM steering wheels and gearshifters from that era, especially first-gen Auroras, were so thin-skinned. There are many pictures of severely worn-out examples, and people using aftermarket covers. |
