My 2003 2nd gen got 26-29 mpg at 70 mph on cruise control over a 400 mile round trip... Can't beat that with such a strong V8 with 190kmiles on it !

I've been very happy with that ever since 2000 when I bought my 2001 new, especially since the car I had right before that, a 1972 442 W-25 455, couldn't even do half that at the same speed!

ahah anyone else got similar mileage with a 1st gen? I'm curious to see... From what I reaf, there were "continuous" improvements over the years to improve economy, but I'm curious to see how noticeable these changes were...!

If I get on the hwy and reset the calculator it MIGHT get 28 or 29 over 30 miles.
My work commute was really highway dominated back at my good house. I had some weeks in the 25's.
Now there is a school and a daycare and this crud subdivision with crappy pavement to drive on so I see 22's.

I got 28.5 last time I drove mine but it has a new 4.6 and a tune. Now that I've broken in the engine a little bit (I was stuck working out of state last year away from my car.) It just turned 678 miles yesterday and the day before I took a 150 mile road trip. I don't have cruise control as the cable is gone but I reset the DIC and averaged 65 mph for 150 miles = 26.5 mpg

I used to see 30 avg mpg w/ Roarah using cc religously but DV8R doesn't have cc and only just turned 2,500 miles on the 4.6 with 90% of my driving being short across town trips everyday to feed the livestock and on winter mix gas I'm barely holding onto 19.3 mpg. I make an hour trip to see people on weekends which will bring that up to 27.5 and quickly start heading backwards in town again.
