Hey everyone. Im looking for recommendations for radios to put in my aurora. Does anyone know of any that :
1) retain the warning chimes(lights on if not in automatic, door open, parking brake set) and 2) Maintain an aesthetic that matches the interior (mine is grey interior, silver exterior)
I personally would prefer a more minimal one that doesn't stick out far and buttons. I really really want there to be buttons rather than touchscreen stuff.(although I would get one if it was the best option)
And now that I think about it, if it was touchscreen and also had GPS I would be open to that. But Im guessing those run a high penny.

I have a Sony touchscreen unit I enjoy. Not quite sure what fits well in the 2G since I have a classic. This adapter will let you retain chimes no matter which radio you choose.

Afternoon Fam!... I can attest that Sony 2din head unit will be a great choice for ur car. I have a 2Gen, & it works perfit!. Also, there are chime kits that u can get to retain EVERYTHING.

This adapter will let you retain chimes no matter which radio you choose. GMOS-05 harness will also retain chimes, etc. I think one is for Bose, the other non-Bose. Big question is what do you want to spend and what features do you want. You can make almost anything fit...

I am not OP but I also want to do what I think she is doing. Will this fit in my 2002 Oldsmobile Aurora with the amplified Bose stock unit? I want to replace the Bose with something with Apple CarPlay and a backup camera mounted to the license plate.

it is a tight fit in depth but it does fit 99% of head units . you just have to move all the plugs and wires outisde of the plastic wall if you remove side carpet walls and center counsel will be no issue maneuver the wires. And the original connector is removable so is antenna connector.

Oh okay so those plugs do move. I was temporarily worried that the depth would be hindered by those items.

I installed an ATOTO A6 android unit in my new to me CTS. Great headunit that can do much more than a standard unit.
