I just bought my first Aurora. 2002 model with the 3.5 v6. It only has 48k original miles and is in very clean condition. Only one owner according to autocheck and no accidents. I got it from an auto auction, as it was a donated car. It had been sitting for a year or two, so the engine stuck a bit before starting, and it needed a battery. Lots of white smoke until the injectors cleared out by running sea foam. Now purrs like a kitten. Put some new gas in it and cleared codes. Seems to be great except for passenger windows that rolled down but won't roll up.

Thanks. I ordered a oil filter from amazon today, and should have it Thursday.

In my experience, oil filters are good value at your local auto parts store. Oil seems to be expensive unless its on sale, but filters dont ever seem to be outrageous. In my opinion at least. I would get that window covered or get it fixed so it goes up, too! Also welcome to HELL

Welcome!
Haha, knowing it sat for up to 2 years, I'd change the coolant and trans, brake, and power steering fluids as well. Never know...
Looks good, enjoy!

At least yours doesnt look so much like a POS as mine. Mine is full of stains, rust on fenders/door, paint chipping, scratches, falling headliner, dirty, scratched tail light, one hazy headlight, etc.

Took the door panel off last night. The regulator is busted. Propped the window up and ordered a new regulator. They aren't too bad on Rockauto.
Really impressed with the car so far. No rust anywhere, and interior is very clean other than needing dusted and such. Cost me less than 1k so far if you don't include the new battery and regulator. The oil filter was a couple dollars cheaper from Amazon than from Oreilly local. Not much different though.

Welcome. I was going to let you know that you needed regulator(s) for your window(s) until I finally got down to your latest post. Very common on the 2G. As was stated, I'd change your other fluids as well, but sounds like you got a steal! I usually pick up Oil from Wal-Mart (the only thing I ever go there for) as it is way cheaper than everywhere else.

If the car sat that long, change the fuel filter, probably now, than again a few hundred miles later. See the how to, or youtube, some of the fuel lines are plastic, and need careful handling.

RCA, I found that walmarts oil is a decent price (SuperTech). Its just quaker-state but cheaper priced. I personally have a hardware store called farm and fleet, and it sells its own brand oil which is literally CITGO oil but super damn cheap. Its good enough to protect a motor, but isnt nearly as good as some of the other oils out there and what it could do for an old motor, but it does its job.
