I didn't really know what to call it since it's really not a strut in the back. Is there anything out there as far as a universal type of brace to use in between both shock Towers in the back?

Would the deck lid open and close?
Never really looked at it...

Yes it would. On the 2G at least. The Two Towers are low enough and pushed far enough back.

I don't recall anyone doing it on here. I know it would for sure work on the classic but yeah I'd worry about clearance on the 2G with the design of the trunk.

I entertained the idea in my Classic a while back. I know some Riviera guys did it. Never seen anyone do it on a 2G. I'd say it is going to be a scratch build from steel stock or modifying an existing brake for another vehicle.

Yes. it would work, but it would need to be a custom piece. There is room for it. The design would need to be a "bowed" up design. The bar would need to be raised up to be close to the underside of the trunk area. I thought of this for myself, but haven't got around to it yet. They had those for the 97-04' Supercharged Buick Regal's (GS). Actually GM sold the rear strut tower brace for the Regals. Maybe you can do a search for it and check out the design to give you an idea.

I have the front strut tower brace for the regal and it's not long enough. it's about 45 inches between rear towers give or take a 1/2 inch. I'm looking into something already made where I can probably fabricate the mounting hardware or just something close enough to be altered.
