I thought this was a sticky here but I couldn't find the discussion.
My changer just cycles thru the trays but won't play. I think I recall the fix being real simple...

Yeah, every time you insert the magazine, the changer will cycle through the trays (looking for media). I've read this is so it will skip over any empty trays when in use.
Soooo...
The laser lens is too dirty to read the CDs...
...or all of your CDs are in the trays upside down, lol!

There aren't any discs in the trays. It just keeps cycling thru the stack 24/7 and won't eject the cassette because it never "finishes" the search.
I thought there was a discussion about this... Who made this changer for GM? Pioneer?

Will this thing just keep cycling day & night till the motor burns out or a belt breaks?

Unplug it!
I've never heard of that exact issue, but these things are dinosaurs. Anything could break, short out, etc. at this point...
And yes, made by Pioneer.

There are a lot of them on ebay . but yes i would unplug it first and would plug it back and once you plug it back try to eject the tray

With a flashlight I could see that the changer had latched onto ONE empty tray and couldn't let go. I watched a couple relevant Youtube videos & also found an old post here but whacking the player or trying to push the tray back into the cassette with a tool didn't help. Ultimately it was unplugging it that got it to release the tray so on the next power-up it slid it back in place.
I guess this 2003 Pioneer changer just needed a reboot!
