Question RE: Under-Seat Battery Area (2nd Gen)

Hello all,

So I have been having some suspected electrical problems lately, and I just got my car back from a service center. In looking under the seat, it doesn't look like they cleaned the ground cable, does it? I think this is something I need to do.

However, what really piqued my curiosity are those two holes you see there. What's that about? Anyone have any idea? Looks to me like something used to be screwed in there, but no longer is.

Anyone have any pictures for comparison of their under-seat battery area? Thanks!!

Im not sure what those holes are to be honest...

The only thing, to my knowledge, that my area is missing is my battery tie down. And thats because I was too lazy to put it back in

Looks like someone scraped the paint away with a screwdriver to get good contact with the metal. Probably just some aftermarket alarm or stereo thing that's been removed.

I have a trunk-mounted powered sub and my ground connection is under the seat, too.

Thanks, everyone! I know a previous owner had had trunk-mounted subwoofers, so that's probably what it was.

Hello again,

So I'm having a hell of a time with this ground cable; the bolt simply will not move! Tried WD40, but I simply can't get it to budge with my 15mm wrench. This isn't normal, is it?

Unless it somehow got welded down the only suggestion I have is get a 15mm 6 sided socket(so all sides are tightly held) and maybe a breaker bar or just something to add leverage.

Yeah, it's either seized (rust/corrosion) or some yahoo over torqued it with an impact driver.

But I agree, a little penetrating oil and a breaker bar should do the trick...
