The wipers cycle once when the delay is engaged, then never again?
I looked for the wiper motor under the hood - can not see it?
Any suggestions, please?

You have to take off the wiper arms and the black plastic cover underneath them. Wiper motor and transmission will then be visible...

ok... lol
-9 degrees today. so DAMN frustrating to be unable to fix up my "new" car!
While replacing the fuel filter I noticed the line was rusted. I moved the filter, not the line nut, and we got through it ok. If that had been a brake line...
I have this ride running like a brand new one - almost. I will change the plugs if it ever warms up. It stumbles a little on startup - that's all. Thing I did that made the most difference was to change the PCV valve, as usual. I guess people mdon't know they exist. Had to do a computer relearn after that!
Your car sure is fine! I'm not crazy about green - or is that just the lighting? Maybe its ivory?
I've heard tooooo many horror stories about the northstar v8. Is there a large difference in performance? Mine is a jack rabbit around town but, of course, lacks the torque necessary to move out at highway speeds. Is that normal?
My other car is an '02 Grand Marquis with 58,000 miles on it. Bought this as a winter beater but changed my mind about that very quickly. I'll drive this for a while. Maybe I will look for another one with super-low miles (mine has 128,0000) and from the deep south, somewhere.
I'm really diggin' this car!

I think tigger's car is White Diamond.
Those fuel filters get crusty. I had the plastic quick connect fitting seize to it and ripped the guts out of the connector taking it off. That was a first.
The Northstars are great motors if you take care of them. This meaning changing the coolant and oil often, and never overheating them. They also seem to like "spirited" driving. My only real gripe with them is the oil leaks.

The "new way" to make an engine has it's drawbacks. It's a lot cheaper because there are no main bearing caps. The "filling" of the sandwich style block is the bottom of the mains. But in real life, that results in oil leaks. It also precludes rebuilding the motor. The mains can not be resized, of course.
You can try putting a 12 ounce can of brake fluid in the crankcase about 2 days before you change the oil. If the gasket that leaks is rubber it should restore it, sealing the leak. I've done this all my life, with every new (to me) car I have bought. Never has it caused trouble, or damage.

Your car sure is fine! I'm not crazy about green - or is that just the lighting? Maybe its ivory? Haha, thanks man! I really appreciate that. Yeah it's the lighting and a POS camera, lol!, It has been called ivory before (as well as cream and sometimes off white), but Rob is correct, the color is called White Diamond Tricoat. Basically, there's a slightly tinted pearl coat between the white base coat and the clear coat. It kind of glows the color of the ambient light and it's most dramatic at night... Here's a "light of day" pic; and another night pic in a more "neutral" light; As for performance, it's kind of a pick your poison thing, lol! The V6 makes torque quicker but has less HP. The V8 has a little more HP and a better gear, but doesn't really start making torque until 3k! And they both weigh in at nearly 2 tons, haha! It's kind of like Cadillac's VIN Y/VIN 9 deal... If it's running good, just enjoy it for what it is!
