It seems we are in the period just before our cars become classics.
Somebody said there are not very many active members here? I have no way of knowing how many lurkers...
Anyway, is there any interest in getting together in real space (as opposed to cyber space) and maybe running up to detroit to attend the oldsmobile thing there?
We could meet up in St Louis (or pretty well anywhere) to kick that around...?

I don't understand. Do you want to have a meetup to put together the meet? Why couldn't we just organize it on here? It's hard enough to get everyone together once.

AJ Says: I am down as well. We do need to have more meets here in Illinois for our Oldsmobiles and Aurora's. Why dont we all meet up and caravan on up to Lansing, Michigan together for the Oldmobile homecoming car show? Its on Fathers day weekend on Saturday June 15th. I am trying to get another member to go as well from Texas. Whos all interested in doing this as well? www.oldsmobileclub.org/events/EventDetails.aspx?id=1186363&group=

Or, to simplify, we could have our meetup in Lansing?
It seems they have done all the heavy lifting - motels, etc. All we have to do is go.

I respect Detroit and everything, but Lansing is not in Detroit, they are in different region/area. Lansing is still building cars and will continue in doing so for GM. Oldsmobile is a Lansing Division not Detroit!!!!! I also did not say anything about the hotels or the show is free to get in nor showcase your car!!! It is 15 dollars before the due date on May 25th to pre register and I recommend that, and there after or at the gate is 20 dollars then. You pay for your own hotel they just give you a discount at the participating hotels to give you the Oldsmobile car show rate. www.oldsmobileclub.org/page/REOlds20170617 here is more info on it and to get pre registered, and maybe join the Oldsmobile club as well!!! I was saying that we should all drive up to Lansing Michigan to the Oldmobile car show with our Aurora or whatever Oldsmobiles we drive. So we all meet up like in the outskirt of Chicago I say that because I think Rob lives in one of the suburbs there somewhere and we caravan together. Meet up on Friday morning JUne 15th. I think this would be easier and the date is already set and would be cool to even have more Aurora's go. Does this sound like a plan for everyone else? Everyone agrees to this date and meet? This seems the easiest for me as I know every year when this is on and paln it ahead to take time off from work and its hard with everyone elses schedule as well, I am also down for a day just to have a mini meet as well! So if everyone give me more ideas and then I will get an official thread started and go from there? If anyone wants to? Penddragon you do know that you can join the Oldsmobile club of Noerth America and then join your St.louis Oldsmobile club as well, there are many Oldsmobile meets they have throughout the year as well!!! www.oldsmobileclub.org/members/group.aspx?id=190048&hhSearchTerms=%22st+and+Louis%22 if that is where your from or on the Illinois side?

Sounds like a plan to me. I'm in... if that's ok? My car is not of the quality to display in a car show. It's just a nice daily driver.
I'm 69. I still work part time. If I was rich I would buy a classic car and do the car show circuit. But I'm not. Still very interested in this stuff.
I live in Indiana, on the IL border.
I own a house here so I get free rent. I stayed here to look after mom. She died in 2012, at age 100. I stayed too long. It's too late for me to start over.
I always jump at a chance to do something else, someplace else. So I hope this happens.
