I have a 2002 aurora 3.5 and the hvac controls do not work except the lights in the buttons.
there is no display of the temperature or anything in the little window. I can control the fan
speed with the steering wheel button. the temperature button on the wheel does nothing either.
the heat and a/c work somewhat automatically. I live in north Carolina so sometimes I would like
more heat or a/c but the car decides on its own what to do. the car came with a extra climate control
but I have not changed it out yet, I am hoping someone else has an idea what the problem might be.
thanks

Check the fuses .. Try to remove the Hvac unit and put it back in. If something i have spare unit you can test with but it doesnt have any lights there(burned out) but first check all the fuses.

Hi, I don't want to take away from your HVAC thread, but I have a problem with a bunch of lights not showing. I can't hardly believe all of them in that cluster are burned out. Thoughts?

Yes this is common issue . Something makes them burned out sometimes half or all of them at same time. Common issue. Maybe just bad solder. if you solder some main contact back might get it working again not sure. But its common its not a fuse or anything else this issue with the Unit U can try to knock on it or remove it and put it back lights might come back but most of the time it be temp solution eventually they never come on again. But my guess will be when they stop working all in one shot its bad contact. One time i had some lights not working and when it was extremely cold lights came on until car warmed up and they went off again and never came back on unless it was very cold outside.

it also fixed my dic, it was stuck on confirm time and date. now it works as it should. It also fixed my headlight switch, now automatic and fog lights work. there is a lot going on with that fuse. I only paid 1,500 bucks for the car because all the problems. I also fixed the scotchlock under the driver seat. now everything is working. The car has 24,000 miles on it. it was garage kept by my bosses mom, who rarely drove it.
