ok where to start.
For about 7 months I would turn my key to start my car , and just hear a click noise . Then proceed to try again. Eventually it would turn over fine and possibly not do it the next time I started it. But i know thats more than likely my starter from reading forums on here. Possible ignition switch or a possible bad ground even.
This morning that all changed. I went to start the ol girl , and my key wont turn at all ! Now I guess my question is, is it possible for a faulty ignition switch to lock it like that? I have everything underneath taken off and ready for repair and im going to start with cleaning the ground cable. Im not very good at searching forums, maybe I didnt word my searches right but ive found nothing pertaining to the key unable to turn . I appreciate the help

Could be. Steering wheel isn't locked? I think maybe the Neutral safety switch, or whatever senses the car is in park could cause that too. On that note double-check the car is fully in park.
Your starter problem sounds like what mine was doing. In my case the nut had completely backed off the cable on the starter so the connection was intermittent. I know that could be anecdotal but worth a thought, something similar could be the case (bad wiring, bad starter relay etc)

Yeah, I'd guess it's the steering wheel lock. Try turning the wheel back and forth while you turn the key.

I appreciate the help I worked for a tow truck company in the 90's. This happened a lot with larger fwd cars parked on hills or butted up to curbs. Shoving the car generally the way which takes pressure off the front end or even jacking it up may help. Of course its just gonna do it again, maybe someplace worse so don't let your woman drive it right to a shady night spot, pull up on a cub, turn it off and expect to drive home @ 0100.

lol. I gave the key a nice little tap with a hammer and its fine now. Well minus the click part. But i can still drive it at least. Its definitely the ignition lock cylinder, new keys for me .... with resistors... yay! 80 bucks .... yay
