Need some help here please. Bought a new pump, bench tested it and it works great. When I remove the pump relay and test for voltage on the connector I get 12volts. When I jump it the pump does not come on. The 10a ign 1 fuse is new and the two 50amp maxi fuses have been checked with a meter and are good. When I jumped the relay connector in the past trying to see if the air pump would turn on, it would spark upon connecting. It does not spark at all currently but I still have 12v on the vertical. I can't figure this out.

If I understand what you're saying; you are jumping the switch pins at the relay socket? If so, then yes the pump should run. Have you checked for power and ground (with switch pins jumped) at the air pump connector? Could be a wiring issue between the relay and pump or pump and ground.

Yes, I am jumping where relay plugs in. No power at wires going into pump. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has run into this situation and found a way to make the pump run without replacing the entire wire harness. I can't pass emissions test like this. Thanks

Problem solved! I went back to messing with the wires at the pump end and when I grounded the pump to the car body it worked. Put everything together, started car and the pump ran for 30 seconds as it should. Hopefully service light will go off.
