.....BUT, has anyone thrown a G2 motor into a Classic body? I'm not doing it but is it a possibility???
I much prefer the Classic body & what not but I would rather have a G2 late 03 motor. Am I off base here?

I've been here since 2004, and so far as I know, nobody has ever done this.

Am I off base here? Well, the 2G engine has a different ignition system and secondary air injection system, so you'd need the 2G PCM to run the engine/trans (you may need the 2G trans as well). But you'd also have to keep the 1G PCM to run the rest of the car... PITA. Mounting and routing issues may be another concern... PITA. I feel sure it's possible, but in the end you'll still have a 4.0L/4T80-E. Why bother, haha?

Yeah the motors, although sharing bore size and design, are different in a number of ways. You'd have to do just about everything tigger said and at that point I'd be more interested in throwing in a 5.3 ls or something with more get up and go haha.
