 I'm working on this 1998 aurora for a friend and we are trying to determine whether or not there was a CD changer in the trunk or remote CD player or whatever that is because we do know that someone who worked on the car a couple weeks ago cut out the Astro start and we believe also Removed CD player when he was actually paid to install a multi function switch and we believe the multi function switch was not replaced the parts were taken and returned for money or sold and possibly other parts are missing that should not be missing such as solar sun load sensor and Twilight sentinel module Although being new to this particular car I'm not sure exactly where that is but I do not see any photo sensors in the defrost area of the dash -As I understand it there could potential one light sensor on each side with the twilight (sunload)photo sensor in the middle ..... not sure what the ones on the sides are haven't figured it all out yet but they're gone also. I'm finding that some of these Oldsmobile RPO codes or done any of the GM charts and really the only ones that I obviously have questions about would be UH8 and U40....ug1= garage door opener.....Uw6= premium Spkr....US7=...Power Antena painted, UPO=.....Radio AM/FM scan seek power reverse blah blah blah I said compact disc radio will not fit into IP something about CD will be removed or mounted other than IP that's quite a mouthful."............... also curious about how our PO 1SA option package one affects anything and along that note is it also possible that some of these Oldsmobile codes are just one letter off from the identical versions or close to identical versions of those codes on the regular GM list such as UB8 (High Horn Tone?)Maybe same as Olds UH

This pertains to my initial thread is there any way to determine whether or not components of a steering column or I should say a better way to determine is there a anyway to determine whether or not a steering column was actually ever removed and is it possible to remove a steering column or any of the components there in with no key in the ignition I believe the answer is yes it's possible but is it actually possible to remove a multi-switch from the Aurora on either the donated steering column or I should say from the donated steering column to then the previous or old steering column with no ignition switch on the donated part without damaging the part . Trying to determine whether or not the work was actually done it was claimed that they donated steering column was installed with multi function switch but it had no key and so therefore had to be removed multi function switch was removed from donating steering column and installed on previous steering column without any damage and removal and mechanic demanded to be paid for the additional time but I see no evidence of anything actually ever have been been removed any ideas

I'm not sure about RPO codes. But...I could tell you if the changer was originally there or not. The trunk carpet/trim was different for CD Changer cars. Could you post a picture of the passenger side corner of the trunk?
Also, I am having trouble comprehending some of your posts without punctuation, it may help to get your point across with proper punctuation and shorter sentences.
I think you may have to cut the wires for the VATS security system to remove the multi-function switch but I could be mistaken. Look for a splice near the main harness connection near the firewall.

GM RPO codes apply to ALL GM vehicles. There aren't specific ones for Chevy, Buick, Olds, etc. FE3 is FE3 on all GMs...
Here are the ones you asked about (I think) from my 2001 build sheet;
UH8 CLUSTER-COOL TEMP, TACH, TRIP ODOM GA(UH8)
U40 DISPLAY,DIGITAL DIRECT READOUT,TRIP MONITOR TRIP MONITOR(U40)
FWIW, the RPO for the CD changer is U1S.
*Side note The RPO sticker you posted above shows RPO FV4 and QQX; It's an Autobahn!
