The Oldsmobile 3.5L V6 (LX5) is technically NOT a Cadillac engine. However, it is a 6 cylinder derivative of the Cadillac Northstar 4.6L V8, hence the nickname "Shortstar". Make your own call, haha!
I kind of recall 3.5 owners having cooling issues at higher speeds due to aftermarket water pumps... Something about the pitch or material of the impeller.
And do you still have the air deflector attached?

If u mean the plastic on bottom of nose peice then no it was gone when I got it. And thanks for the info. Ive seen the wheel on the water pump on factory is 10 mil thick to where the after market is 8mil. Plus holes are in different spots. Seen that on YouTube. I love the car just wish I stop the over heating. I need it for long trips

Rockauto.com
ACDELCO 1560143 {#52482185} GM Original Equipment - $106.79
Unless it's leaking, I'd try to backflush it first...

On some cars that air deflector is decorative. Others its mission critical. How important is it on the 2g Auroras?

Thanks for info. What is back flushing? I may have tried it just dont know it by that name. And thanks so much. Oh yea it has a new heater core from advance and water pump from the same Backflushing is forcing a solution or compressed air through the heater core in the opposite direction of normal flow. But if you've already installed a new core, there's really no need to backflush it. You might want to try a radiator flush if you haven't already... My money is still on the water pump though. On some cars that air deflector is decorative. Others its mission critical. How important is it on the 2g Auroras? Probably somewhere in the middle. There is a slit opening that runs horizontally just under the headlights that provides some airflow. The main benefit of the deflector is that at higher speeds it directs air that would otherwise go under the car straight to the radiator.

So I think that plastic peice under the car helps a 2002? If I remember right it was just to block it off.

So I think that plastic peice under the car helps a 2002? If I remember right it was just to block it off. WHAT plastic piece under the car? It's pretty much just the door seal (weatherstripping) and the vapor barrier that keeps water out... A water pump is 200 bucks here at GM dealer Rockauto.com - ACDELCO 251599 {#12458115, 19168613} GM Original Equipment Includes Gasket - $84.99. Same part... My driver side heat in my seat will turn on then back off. Passenger seat does good. Wonder why? You have a break in the drivers seat heating element circuit. It's most often the connection between the seat and back heating elements, but it could be a break anywhere in the circuit.

Make sure you use factory OEM thermostat and water pump. After markets are not same. You may have to go to the dealer for parts.
