Next up, rear springs, lateral links, the funky alignment bolts and finally, the rearmost subframe mounts. We'll see how that goes with these RUSTY lateral link bolts...

Same here. I tried this morning, but the car has to be lifted really high to be able to work on releasing the spring, and my floor jack is too ******. Will buy one tomorrow...

Got the old spring out, what next? Very difficult to pry this new one in, tried top first and bottom first and both did not work. I parked the project for now, waiting for my spring compressor, hopefully Monday

Looks easy enough... youtu.be/ArtHMmtBXqwGot my spring compressors, ... just have to do it . Any tips to replace these rear springs? Did you use spring compressors? Installed top first, just like in the video above?

Just BE CAREFUL with those spring compressors! I've heard horror stories...

So, this is how I did it. Used McPherson strut spring compressor, had to think how to position them so the rods would clear the frame and the lower control arm. I compressed the spring from 10.5" down to 9" on my workbench, then I positioned the spring inserting the top first, and further compressed the spring in place, felt this was safer. Will do the other side tomorrow. Once you have the right tool, it works fine. I hate working with spring compressors, feels like it's a live bomb!!

With the new coil springs installed, it makes a world of difference. It's quite interesting how a slow degradation from the suspension being worn out goes unnoticed over time...
Next step will be replacing the side links and having the rear wheels aligned.

Out with the old, in with new. Replaced the lateral links, also the excentric bolts. Had to lower the frame a bit to make clearance for the bolts, but it was easy. Will now need a wheel alignment.
