I had carpet looking pretty ratty on the lower console appliques. So I been watching YouTube lately and saw people recovering things with their choice of leather, vinyl or suede. So I said I can do this lol. I really wanted suede but the price is ridiculous. So i ended up getting a comparable shade of grey vinyl that matches the carpet. I ripped the carpet off the plastic with a heat gun. Then sprayed the piece down and applied the foam backed vinyl over it and snipped little piece of the overhanging backside so I could fold it over and glue it down. I am pleased with the results. I'm pretty sure a shop would have charged me $200 but this job cost me $45 for the vinyl and spray glue and just my time. I think it looks much cleaner and adds a touch of class but a small part of me thinks I should try to get the color better matched I dunno 🤷🏻 . I don't think I'm going to tackle redoing my seats though I'll leave that to the pro's lol.
