Hello I am new here but I am having an issue, so the other night I went to start my car (auora) and I let off on the starter too soon so when I went to start it again it fired right up, and ran TERRIBLE! it sputters and knocks now and has a strong burning gas smell (possibly very lean?) When I first start it it starts in high idle and then goes down to a low idle where it sputters and knocks and occasionally stalls. When I drive it it often times somewhat runs away with itself slightly in terms of going road speed (35 to 45 mph) stays at that speed until I apply the brakes in which case it slows down. When I come to a full stop at a stop light or whatnot often times it idles at around 1500 to 2k rpms. When I first start driving it it accelerates fine and if I do floor it it goes up in rpms fine and takes off likes it's supposed to, however after a few minutes of driving I can get up to 70 mph fine but it is gutless and if I floor it only goes to about 2500 to 3000 rpms max and acts like it has no power at all.
It should also be noted that when it's just setting idling it will randomly idle up to around 3000 rpms and then go back down to sputtering at about 400 to 1000 rpm.
As for why I mentioned it happening right after a failed start (let off on the ignition too soon) I was just curious if that could have caused various issues either with the computer or possibly a slipped timing chain? Or it could have caused some other unknown issue?
I took it took it to an autozone and used their scan tool and got a p1860 code which is something to do with the TCC PWM solenoid valve? Though could that cause it to idle rough like that in park?
Other things I'm thinking is a clogged CAT I also tried replacing the mass air flow sensore and unplugged tha batter touched the positive and negative together and let it sit for around 15 minutes and it did not help the problem at all after I reconnected the batter and started it again.
I've read it could be any multitude of things such as crankshaft position sensor cam position sensore coil packs etc.
Any inputs or suggestions would be much appreciated I'm not that proficient at advanced diagnosing etc past replacing obvious things such as alternators belts and pullies etc. Its my only way to and from work right now and I don't have a bunch of money to take it to a professional shop so if you have any ideas feel free to share, I'm decent at replacing stuff if I'm headed in the right direction otherwise I'd prefer not to just be throwing parts st it that do not fix the issue ar hand.
