I've never seen that done, but I think it would probably work. Guess it would depend on how much material you lose truing up the hole... But I just couldn't trust it.
Are they hard to find in the salvage yards?

Somewhat confused. When you say aluminum knuckles, where are you specifically talking about? I can't imagine for safety reasons a steering component made from aluminum unless it is lined with hardened steel for wear resistance. Maybe a photo would help.

I believe both the knuckles and control arms are cast aluminum. Control arms I know for sure are. www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo.php?pk=12025429&cc=1382217&jsn=8

Hi again, If you search car-part.com you can get used steering knuckles in your area for around $40. That may be a safer bet.

They interchange on a lot of GM vehicles from this time, but I dont want to drop so much *** ***** money on stuff anymore. If I could fix the control arm with an insert i would like to. But I cant find any available and im not quite savy enough to produce them.

Take it to a local machine shop and let them have a look. A proper repair may be more expensive than a used replacement...

You're right Aurora Girl, that would be a ways to go. If you look closer to that snapshot, that's Saginaw, MN which is 22 miles away from you. 😊
I didn't know if you needed it for a Gen 1 , Gen 2, right side, left side, etc. I just pulled something up to help you out. I personally think a $40-50 used part may make the most sense, but of course that's your call.
Good luck with your project.

Thats okay And other guy, saginaw minnesota is far from being 22 miles from haha. its about 2 1/2 hours which isnt nearly as bad but still lol
