My name is Jerome. I live in Chicago and last year I bought an “Pearl White” 2001 Oldsmobile Aurora 4.0 V8 for $1000 body is in excellent condition it has 255k miles on it but runs like a champ. I’m currently having the transmission rebuilt and about 6 months ago I had the air idle control valve replaced because the car would cut off while driving which is extremely dangerous or the engine would stall when trying to start but now that problem is fixed and I would like to ask anyone else opinions on what else I should do to make this car run good with upgrades and being an eye catcher.

Welcome! Since its 2001 they rust very easy so i would apply underbody rust protection. esp where the struts/shocks bolt in.

Thanks Guys. I’ll definitely look into rust protection underneath along with replacing some of those connecting parts below.

Welcome. The best thing you can do for this car is to keep the coolant fresh. There aren't a whole lot of upgrades that can be done. Check out northstarperformance.com

Yeah I’ve noticed that. I know I’m late but I’ve been looking at old threads regarding the low oil pressure dash signal so I’m thinking of changing the oil filter “PF61E” and going with a different engine oil 10w-30 that I see is proficient for our cars. I’m trying my best to replace and update the most and best I can.

Welcome to the club! I'm in Chicago as well.
Low oil pressure light on all the time? Or when your car gets warm and at idle?

Soon as I start it it comes right on never goes off and it did the samething before I got my transmission rebuild I had it I had the code clear once before the rebuild but it came right back on after I wanna say like a day or 2 . Also, I know I’m gonna have to sand the gas tank and put another gas cap on that could be another reason why it’s on.
