This is on a 2003 Aurora. Start the car up and start driving and the wipers will come on. Moving the wiper stalk up and down doesn't always turn them off. 3 minutes later the wipers are on again and you are flipping the stalk up and down to get them to turn off. Repeat this for as long as you drive the car. I suspect the stalk has gone bad.
I kind of wonder if the intermittent switch has gone bad. If so, is there a fuse I can pull to turn the intermittent feature off but still have wipers?
Oh, the car doesn't have the Auto Wipers like some Aurora's.

I've had 2 GMs with the same/similar issue. Both times it turned out to be the circuit board on the wiper motor.

Doesn't sound like a cheap fix. Bummer.

Not as bad as you might think if you can DIY, I was able to save one (re-soldered a few joints on the circuit board). Had to buy new on the second, about $100, but worth getting rid of that PITA!
I've never done one on the Aurora (knock wood), so I can't really offer any instruction or parts cost estimate. ...IF the circuit board is the issue in your case.

Would anyone happen to know which fuse controls the wipers? I'm just going to pull the fuse. At times, the wipers will run the entire time I'm driving the car and I can't get them to stop. Just easier to pull a fuse and put it back in when I need the wipers.

Thank you. At least it's not under the back seat.

...At least it's not under the back seat. Haha, you may change your mind after replacing it in the rain a couple times! GL

Ok, I just pulled the #3 fuse and that did stop the wipers from running but that turned on my BRAKE LIGHT and ABS LIGHT. I put the fuse back in because I don't want to drive a car that might not have brakes. What's up with that? The wipers are on the same circuit as the brakes and ABS?

Short to power finding a new path?
