Alpine is generally good audio equipment. It works and sounds good, when they work. I've seen alpine have foam that rots away without much use, but that's any brand of audio. And i think with the aurora, there wont be much sunlight getting through anyway. I would give it a shot

I was also looking at some really nice high end Infinity Kappa's. Right now I am still debating between the Alpines and the Infinitys.

I'd probably go for the Infinity's. The seem to produce sharper (tighter) bass and clearer (sharper) high's (at least to me).

if you're going to spend that much money, i recommend this: www.jbl.com/car/products/product_detail.aspx?prod=P953&ser=POS&cat=MELJBL is made by harman kardon, which you probably already know, they also make infinity. Infinity uses JBL technology, but not the the same extent and things of the sort JBL does. while, infinity is a kick ass brand, i personally think JBL is the better route.

Im also a fan of JBL. Very impressed by their workmanship and sound quality.
I had some 4x10" JBL coaxials in an 84 Buick regal, powered by a Rockford punch 45. May I say, they had very clear highs, as well as bass that was taken for an 8" woofer.
Go for the JBL's. You'll be impressed.
