Pulled my factory CD player after it continually tried eating my CD's and was blowing my dash panel fuse. Tried rectifying with a cleaner disc etc..., but the fix was only temporary. Installed a Pioneer DEH-P4600 single CD player and it ROCKS!! I pulled the dual voice coil 6x9's from my wrecked SSE and put them in the Rora and the sound improvement was awesome! No more blown fuses, no more eaten CD's, no more frustration. Plus I can play MP3's, CD-R and CD-RW discs, so I can download and make my own!

I was really worried how the appearance of my panel would look without the factory player. But it really is a clean installation. I think the little tray they put under the stereo is kinda hokie, but it's a good place to hide my remote.
Really pleased with the whole thing.
Did you install the adapter so you can still use the steering wheel controls? I did not. Figured I'd save the $70 they wanted for that piece. I never used the steering controls all that much anyway, and didn't like the fact that I could only scan one direction.

I just noticed the dates on these pictures. They were all taken less than 5 minutes apart. Can't explain why the stereo pics have a date of 12-1-02?? Heck I was only 15 then and didn't even own a car! Maybe something to do with the year change, since these were the first pics I have taken in 05! Stupid camera!
Honest, these were just taken tonight, so disregard the date in the 1st two pics!

Never mind inside joke.

Suddenly this all seems very familiar to me... as if it's happened before... Nice installs in your Black Beauty, very clean! That is actually the first photo I've seen of a NON-woodgrain dash option, which I have. I thought a certain amount of woodgrain was standard in all models. That's what I get for thinking!

Nice install...how did you do the fuzz buster..I would like more details on that. Also, you said that you can now play CD-Rs and CR-RWs with the new Pioneer, couldn't you do that before ? I am able to play my own "custom" CDs in my 95. Just curious.

I could play the CD-R's and CD-RW's, but not the MP3's. Also, for some strange reason, it would eat my factory CD's. Wouldn't give them up. Kicked out the home made CD's, but wanted to keep the factory ones. I hated that!
As for the fuzzbuster...My dad clipped the plug off of the power cable and stripped back the two (tiny) wires. He touched the ends with a soldering gun & a drop of solder to keep them from fraying. He then pulled the plug off the back of my mirror and took a 12 volt (light) tester to determine Positive(+) and Negative(-). He used the frame of the car for the ground so he could determine what he called "true" positive. Once (+) was determined, he stuck the soldered tip (about 3/8" long) of the red (tiny) wire into the (+) slot, then the soldered tip of the black wire into the (-) slot. He then pushed the mirror plug back on, which fits very snuggly. Tuck the wires up into the edge of the headliner and curl the wire down through the small wire track on the window to the mirror. That's about it. Everything works great and it's completely out of sight. I'm very pleased with it.
(if you look closely on my pictures above, you can see the black wire curling around to the mirror back)
