I would like to add a factory 12 disc CD changer to my '01 Aurora. My car has the Bose upgrade. Is the same changer used for both radio systems?
I'm hoping I could get a used changer and trunk carpet trim piece. Would the necessary wiring already be in the car?
Any good\bad comments from owners who have the CD changer option?

Yes, the changer was optional and could be ordered with the standard radio or the BOSE radio. I have the changer on my car. I also have the BOSE radio.
However, I am sorry to tell you that the changer cannot be added to the car after the fact if it was not ordered on the car originally from the factory. The reason is that the harness to connect the changer to the radio system is not present in those Auroras that were not ordered with the changer. I found out this information on one of GM's service websites meant for dealership use.
Don't wait your time or money buying the changer and related parts, as you cannot hook it up.

Thanks for the reply, skexius.................
I suspected exactly what you said since I couldn't find a wiring harness in the trunk. Guess I'll have to suffer through the manual labor of changing CD's................. ;D ;D ;D

Or you could always go aftermarket? Then they create the necessary harnesses for 12 disc luxury Personally I love my 12 disc, though its rarely full...go figure

Jim do you have the stock 12-disc cd that came from the factory? Boy i wish the people would have bought that for my car along with the bose system so i wouldnt have to be dumping 500 into audio

Its a stock Delco (actually made by Pioneer) in the trunk, 12 disc, its quite a nice feature for a mid 90's car.
And I have spent a grand total of $0 dollars on audio. Its got enough thump for my tastes.

Yep, whatever the Acoustimass system was for my model year. It got better in 98, Acoustimass badges on the doors like Omegiac has on his blue 98.
I got the 8 speakies with the bass module mounted to the underside of the rear deck. I'm tellin ya, she came with every option except stock chrome kickers.
