all 2nd gen auroras come with a factory amplifier. My question, is where is this amplifier located at? Is it on the back of the back seat? Also, I need to know what all of the wires do because I want to bypass the amp so I can use my own. (because I want to change the speakers.) the factory system (non-bose) really sounds bad!

i would assume the amplifier is built into the head unit, but maybe not, on my taurus it was located in the trunk on the drivers side underneeth the carpeting, i tell ya that was a huge pain when it came to rewiring.

There should be an external amplifier because if you look at the parts list it has on there stereo amplifier and it points to somewhere in the trunk but there are 3 or 4 different modules back there in the same area so I wasn't sure which one it was. lol.

The BOSE amp in my bonnie-ville was just under the head unit in a bracket. I'd take a look there. It'll probably be a pain to look behind there but unfortunately, sh.........t happens.
