Out of the sake of curiosity I did a little bit of price digging to see what factory replacement stereo equipment would cost for the 2001+ and was shocked at what I found: Stock cd player replacement $830 Stock component speaker replacement: $32 Stock Rear 6x9 replacements: $40. Stock amplifier replacement: $320 What this tells me is that if GM only charges $30-$40 for a replacement after their outrageous overinflation of prices, how much do you think they paid to put them in each car? $5? That seems pretty cheap to me. For such a premium luxury car (for a GM) they shouldn't have skimped that much on the stereo. Sure it suits most people just fine, but for the young person in me it's just horrible. The Bose upgrade makes a huge difference, but still, they could have done much better. There's no lows, no mids, just a screaching high range that drives me nuts. The music just sounds like it has no details to it and hollow. Maybe it's just because I'm used to having all infinity products in my cars.. I can't wait until I can get the Infinities put into the Aurora. It'll be a nice change for sure.
