I like the look of the Kenwood better, but I'm sure they are both great headunits. Best of luck with the installation.

You might be right on the Kenwood looking better, but the Alpine has some cool features, my Kenwood is a couple of years old too from like 2002, still working in perfect condition. But this will be my first Alpine ever, I had about seven Kenwood radio units since 1994. So I'm very eager to see how this Alpine turns out, installation will be a breeze, as a matter of fact I will have 2 extra radio kits for the Classic Aurora and 1 extra radio harness.

My friend had an Alpine similar to that in his car with 3 JL 12's boxed in his trunk...thing worked great! Alpine definitely has a trademark style with their faceplates.
I'm not so into aftermarket audio systems but I can appreciate the effort of those that do!...congrats on the purchase, if you get out to Carlisle I'd love to see yer car

I'm wanting to put my Premier 550MP in the Aurora this summer so I can get XM radio/ MP3 back. Do you have an apple I pod? If so you can get an auxilary input (RCA) for pioneer headunits. Let me know if you're interested in that. I used it on mine before.

I was looking at a couple of Pioneers, but If I were to get a PIONEER, the one for me it would be the one with a 10GB Hard Disc Drive, that means you store about 200 CD's in the hard drive of this head unit without taking any CD's with you to carry around, plus on top of that you still get a MagicGate Memory Stick player that lets you play recorded Memory Stick tracks on the road. And yup it still plays MP3's, CDR's, CDr-W's. And cannot forget a wireless remote control. Oh and SONY makes one with a Hard Drive as well. Here is the Pioneer one, Here is the SONY,

hey everyone, i have an ECLIPSE headunit the 5504 with navigation and voice recognition and all that b.s. but i dont know if i want to put it in my aurora, the stock cd player looks so clean with the rest of the dash and the eclipse is only a single DIN. im afriaid the kit for the radio will make the install look tacky/cheap. that and the headunit has no internal amp, so id have to run an amp to all my speakers. does anyone think its worth the hassle, or even better does anyone have pics of their single DIN headunits in their classic aurora? see how clean the stock cd player makes the whole center dash look!?

Here's a pic of my Alpine CDA-9813 in a classic. Circuit City installed it and they did a crappy job but it can be done way better. plus I go in and out of there often so it's not the most secure install, but I would either reccomend getting a different head unit with an internal amp or if you feel ambitious keep the one you have and amp everything(assuming you upgraded all speakers)

Well Javi i dont have that kind of money to be putting into a freakin head unit for christ sake. I am going to go ahead and order that CD deck, get some nice speakers at a nice price and be happy.
My stock cd receiver is so fudged its not even funny. Going down the road....1st 3 or 4 tracks play fine, the rest skip, even with a clean fresh CD.
