I have chrome emblems & lettering on my Aurora (which I like)... although I never even knew that color existed before I saw mine for the first time! Every other Aurora I've seen up close has had gold accents. How about yours? Did the options change in the 2001+ models? The poll shall reveal all...

The gold trim was an option package available on all Aurora, I know that the 2002 that Aurora40 owns, has the silver trim, but his dads green 2001 has the gold trim package.
Either way, I like the minimalist look.

Wow Jim, you even remember which years the two Auroras in my extended family are! But, you missed the color... My dad got the Sapphire, not green. I think chrome was standard every year from 1995 to 2003 with the "gold package" being about a $2-300 option each year. Here's my dad's gold emblem: and mine:

My 2001 4.0 has chrome emblems. One thought about the gold trim....it would have been a nice styling job if the tailpipe tips were also gold. ______________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

$200 for 2 gold badges? Did the "gold trim package" include something else?

So far as I know, the "Gold Graphics Package" consisted of the hood emblem, the trunk lid emblem, and the script on the trunk lid that said "Oldsmobile" and either "Aurora 3.5" or "Aurora 4.0". And it was a $175 option. _____________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

That sounds expensive for a gold logo and a name - but then again if you were ordering the car new, what's a couple of hundred bucks extra.

$200 for 2 gold badges? Did the "gold trim package" include something else? Are you kidding? There is no price that could be placed on THE BLING FACTOR! Actually I'm surprised that was an option, since I've always seen gold on 95-99's (except mine). I'm a fan of chrome over gold anyway.

I have the Gold Option, In the front hood an "Aurora" symbol and in the back a gold "Aurora" badge. Here is the picture of the rear. Peace.

The gold on black is just as nice as the gold on diamond white ;D
And its nicer with the minimal badges, one guy around here has a black Aurora with stock chrome, cept he has the 2001+ "4.0" on his doors, an extra Aurora "A" symbol above the keyhole on his trunk lid and the AURORA badge in its regular spot.
Overkill IMO, plus I dont think its all that wise to be putting 2001+ badges on a classic, the font face looks kinda different.
