On my way to work this morning, I tilted the sunroof open while driving 55-60mph on the highway. I immediately heard a distinct rattling noise from the front area of the sunroof, like a loose screw was blowing/bouncing around somewhere in the assembly. I closed it, and the noise stopped. I tried to slide open the sunroof completely by retracting it, and it wouldn't go... the switch was clicking and the motor would start to crank, but then it froze before the window slid anywhere.
When I stopped and parked at work, the whole thing worked fine and I couldn't see anything out of place (on the outside anyway). Thoughts?

There must have been something loose flying around in there that jammed the roof when you tried to retract it. Next time you open it up take a look in there real good.

Well I looked/felt around the area last night, and couldn't find anything. No more noises since then, and it's been working fine. Strange... ...but problem is gone for now!

heh, sounds like your problem is better then mine, my roof refuses to retract if its wet, even damp. Once things dry up...whooosh it opens Vent, no problem.

that actually could have its benefits..
scotty, smack the roof of your car around the sunroof and listen for the rattling noise. maybe a screw popped loose and lodged itself in the track, then fell out later.
