So my power antenna doesn't work (never has)... I thought the motor was bad (which would be repaired under warranty), but discovered the connector was unplugged AT the motor. When I plugged it in and turned my radio on, the motor cranked away but the mast didn't move. So it's a broken mast cable, right? My warranty will fix it, but I'd have to pay $84 out of pocket which I really would like to avoid. I'm pretty sure I can get a mast assembly and install it myself, to save some money.
Has anyone replaced the mast only? How in the world do you get into the motor to replace that cable? The plastic motor housing looks to be riveted together, and I couldn't figure out how to open it up. Ideas?

Does your mast (or the one from antennax.com) include the flexible cable/wire that the motor winds up, to pull the antenna down? I think THAT is the part that is broken on mine, but the actual shiny metal mast that is visible outside the car. And I still don't know HOW to get into the motor housing to access the part that's broken on mine. R4D30N, if you could post of picture of yours, perhaps all my questions would be answered...

scottydl Sorry if I was a bit vague but I got the link from automotiveforums. I never purchased an antenna from them. So sorry but I don't know the answer to your question. stevensolds Nah mine is 1996 ....Black on gray Air conditioned 200,000Km Stock. The picture is from members.fortunecity.com/zincster/I think it was made with a graphics program as it is exactly like the Aurora picture beside it.

Yes I am... if you could check on that, I'd greatly appreciate it! ;D My main concern still is how just the new mast would be installed... from my research it seems that the unit may normally come all as one (motor and mast already assembled), and is not intended to be separated or replaced independently.
