I was bored today so I started thinking (only do that when I am bored, saves a lot of energy) what else I can do to the car. So I pulled off a wheel (finally bought a hydrolic jack) and got to thinking about brake lines (what else does a bored guy think about on a Sunday afternoon ;D). The thought was, how hard would it be to change the rubber brake lines to stainless steel. Do they even make them for this car? Keep in mind that the toughest job I have tackled on the car was changing the FPR, so I am NO mechanical genious. But, I though that this upgrade might be good when I try and tackle a brake job sometime. It also may help to eliminate the "spongey (sp?)" type feeling that I get when I put my foot on the pedal. I know I need to get my brake fluid flushed, but would changing the lines require the brakes to be bled again. I know I am not making any sense here so please forgive my ignorance.

You could put stainless steel brake lines in, but a small portion of them would still have to be rubber, reason being that some part of the brake lines have to be flexible so that the front wheels can turn. _______________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Would that small bit of rubber mean that installation of SS brake lines would be useless? Do you think that SS lines would be a god mod or a useless one? Also, are these any good?

Those lines with the braided stainless steel reinforcement of the rubber part would be good because the reinforcement would prevent any expansion of the rubber segment. That would eliminate any sponginess. If you go to SS brake lines, get ones with that reinforcement. ________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!
