i got new tires about 10 days ago......now theres a funny feeling in the steering. i didnt notice it before i put the new tires on....the steering wheen kind of moves by itself a little if i start moving slow from a stop without my hands on the wheel, and i feel what i guess is "play" in the steering wheel....i just had the car inspected in Oct...safety passed (they check steering here)...why would new tires do this?? i didnt notice so much the first day or so after the new tires but i do now and it feels as if its getting worse...any ideas what it could be???

Something might have loosened in the steering linkage just after the time you got the new tires. ______________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Hey, one thing I would check is that the lug nuts are torqued properly and the tires have the proper air in them. I would not at all be surprised to find they forgot to tighten the lugs on a wheel or something. And I've personally gotten cars back from tire places with less than 20 lbs of pressure in them...

hey Aurora40, thanks for thr tip....actually, i checked the tires today and they only have like 25 lbs of air when they should have 31...i'm going to hit the first air pump i can find tomorrow...would this cause the "play" i feel in the steering though?

It could. I don't know how much play you are feeling. Different tires can feel differently too.
