Mine is always at the 3/4 mark? Not used to having a car with this high of a reading. Probably put there by some sort of electronics, but is mine really normal? I have never seen it move from that spot once there.

mine is usually a little bit below 1/2 on the gauge. your car soudns like it's running too hot to me.. maybe your thermostat was replaced with a 195 unit instead of a 180.

Mine has never ever gone over or under the exact halfway point after the engine warms up... whether it's 90º or -15º - but I understand it's different with the classic auroras.

Perhaps the needle is off? Typically the PCM will keep the needle right on that thicker line. The real temp wavers some, but the PCM levels it out (isn't giving you accurate info). If the temp varies enough it will move the needle.
