Here is the problem... I have a 2001 oldsmobile Aurora 3.5 and the check engine light came on.. Now it will take between 15 and 20 seconds for my car to start I will keep turning the key until it starts not letting go. Cause if I let it go I will have to keep doing it. It will turn over fine. After the car runs it runs fine its just the starting.I brought it to autozone and they said it was a secondary air sensor. They said there are a right and a left sensor. Then just yesterday when the car started a small cloud of white smoke came out so I called a shop and they told me it was something with the air and gas mixture. I brought it to a buick dealer 2 day and he checked my car real quick cause he will work on it after hours. He said it was my fuel pressure regulator or something. He grabbed a small hose and up plugged it and some fuel came out thats when he said that was the problem that regulator. Does that sound right? Thanks

yea, that's exactly how to tell if an FPR is bad or not, pull the upper line and see if fuel comes out, the FPR is bad.
It's just a matter of time before 2nd Gens have the same problems.

But can that be whats making my check engine light come on with a secondary air sensor? I also looked in my fuse box last night and I was missing a AIR fuse(30)...I put 1 in last night an it seems to start a lil better... The check engine light came back on again...Now what could it be? Ima run the code again to see what comes up now...Ill post what cose comes up. Still looking for more help...Thanks

Have the engine codes been scanned yet? Go Autozone or Advance Auto and they will read the codes for free, and that will hopefully narrow down what part is malfunctioning.

The guy changed the Fuel pressure regulator and it seems to be starting fine. But I forgot to get the codes cleared so after it was done I went to autozone and the cose that was coming up was P0410 seconary air injection system. So I got them cleared now so I will have to wait to see if it comes back on. I hope that was it.
