Hi we are pround owners of 2 Auroras in the last two weeks. Both are 2001 one a 4.0 and one a 3.5. Both were found with water in the spare tire well. The 4.0 had been there for quite awhile as the bolt and jack had rust on them. Any suggestions? I am afraid to take them to a car wash!!

I'd check the seals around the edge of the trunk. My Aurora's trunk leaks too. BTW, how do the V8 and V6 Aurora compare? I'd like to see your insight.

However, I was under the impression that the two-piece trunklid on the 3.5 model was to blame for most trunk leaks. Leaky trunks are a good bit more rare in the 4.0 model line. I hope you fix this! It's a shame to let those awesome cars get nasty like that...

For the short time that we have owned them maybe it's a mental guy thing but the V8 just seems to ride better. More solid and with what it seems like a smoother trans from the start. The Bose system is definetely missed on my (yeh you heard it) my 3.5--the wife gets the 4.0 because I love black! The memory seats and the rearview mirror are nice options. If I could have found a black 4.0 for the deal I got our silver 4.0 we would be a exclusively a V8 family....

Yeah, the V8 has a different better transmission as well as the better engine... I'd take a black one too
