Hey there folks, My name is Keith, and I have a '95 Aurora in the color that they called "Available". It's the gold. I have had this car for the last 243,000 miles. Everything works... some things better than others. I am thinking of changing the plugs as they have 163,000 miles on them, but why mess with something that works. This has been a great car, and as I do a lot of travel all over Illinois and Indiana, I have only been stranded once when the battery failed, when I stopped to fill up. I have run out of gas with the gauge showing over 1/4 tank a few times, but even I learned how to keep track in other ways. By the way, the floor of my garage looks like a rainbow from all of the leaking fluids, and I tend to use about a quart of oil for each 1000 miles, but I guess that I have a few "creaks and groans" myself. Let's hear about some other high mileage runners... I hate to think that I am breaking the waves for everyone else.

Wow...tired is right!, for that mileage I'm not suprised that it may have a few drips and drops all over. And I am pretty certain that the lower gearing of the non Autobahn equipped Aurora helps that tranny I feel inferior with only 90K miles (148 000 kms) on my 1996 Welcome! glad to have you here with us!

Hi to all. I'm Greg, from San Antonio, TX. I've had my white 95 Aurora for about 3 months now. I got it with 65k miles and I now have 71k miles on it. I've had my eyes on these cars since "day-1", and despite the fact that my car has some quirks (like stalling, pass. side radiator leak, sudden acceleration, non-working cruise cntrl)--all of which I've hopefully found solutions to---I still love these cars. I'm also relieved to know that theres someone (Amanda), dedicated enough to arrange a "meeting place" for our growing "family" of Aurora enthusiasts. I've come up with several cosmetic AND performance mods, including some accessories that I'll introduce in the near future. I'm sure you all will welcome the unveiling of these ideas. I'm also definately looking forward to some Aurora Meets (meet-n-greet type of thing) some time in the future as well.
I want to conclude with a "Welcome Aboard" to all, and may your Aurora Pride continue to shine on.....

Hello Auroraites. My name is Ricky. I own a 1997 and have had it for 1 1/2 years now. I love the car but at same time hate it! It is a maintenance nightmare. Everything on this car costs an arm and a leg to fix, and try to find anyone who knows how to work on it! Oldsmobile threw up their hands on 2 problems I'm having saying they have no idea! I do whatever maintenance I can but the Rora is so technically advanced that it makes it almost impossible for me to work on. Just when I fix 1 thing, another goes out. I don't think it was treated very well by the previous owner either. I hate the thought of getting rid of it but my wallet is not a bottomless pit. Anyone else have continued maintenance problems with theres??

Its true the maintenance costs are quite high, I firmly believe that is why the resale value is so low Sorry to hear you are having some issues with your car, I am to...but meh, its the way it goes. Glad you joined us here anyhow

Great to have you! Olds was always so ahead of their time that's what I think essentially brought them to an end.
People are afraid of big change. It lead to the end of the Toronado that's for sure. People didn't know what to make of them built in touch screen in the late trofeo's. it sure is a shame.
