Hey everyone!! Another Aurora owner here who likes to do his own repair, maintenance, and upgrade work. I've had my 98 Aurora for about 2.5 years now. I purchased it with under 30K on it and not it has 80K. It's been very reliable for me thus far (knock on wood) and I hope to keep it a while. As for me, I'm from Virginia. I was an engineer for a few years but decided to forego that and become a dentist. So..I'm heading down that road in a month or two(starting school). So, if I'm a regular Aurora club visitor for a while then drop off the face of the earth...it's because school started

Welcome zimaad!
Nice to see another Aurora owner who loves his car as much as we do. What color is yours? I have a burgandy 97 and I just passed the 90K miles mark. I bought it 3 1/2 months ago with about 85K on it. Anyway I love it. I want to do a couple of mods to it, but am to scarred to fudge stuff up. I am slowly learning though.
Welcome to the forums again zimaad!
Good luck in dental school!!!!!

Mine is white with tan leather interior. I have a slew of maintenance items I'm starting to take care of on mine. Nothing really "wrong" just keeping it in shape. Last week I changed the plugs, wires, and flushed the coolant system. This week I'll drop the tranny pan and change the filters and fluid in there. I just purchased some new front struts I need to get on there too. I'll probably get new bushings and do those while I'm at it.
What mods you thinking of doing? All I've done is the airbox mod. There isn't really a whole lot to do for these that I know of. I'd love to do some exhaust work too, but I don't wanna mess up the quiet highway ride.

Of course a big welcome Zimaad, we have met on BC and on AF, and I always appreciate your insights.
I take it our cars look very similar. Nice to have you here as we grow.
Lotsa plans and potential once my co-admin gets back online ;D

Yep it's me...and I still have that 94 SSEi sitting in my driveway that I'd LOVE to keep and mod up. It's easier to get some HP gains for that than the Aurora. Unfortunately, this Friday I'm taking it back to it's rightful owners! Guess I'll just have to design a SC intake for an Aurora ;D

I have a friend who is into tractor pulling. You would think it's a bunch of drunk rednecks out there hooking a sled up to some hunk of junk. There's actually a lot of pretty cool turbo-diesels and things like that. My buddy just converted a gasoline head to a diesel head and makes custom intakes and exhaust manifolds to go with it. A guy that lives near me (same one who put the new bearings in my SSEi SC) is helping my buddy out and is a guru at SC's, turbo's, and head work. If we REALLy wanted to, I'm sure we could design one that would flow well. The electronics would be the hard part to work out. Ooohooohh.....just think, and Aurora going down the road with a hood scoop..that actually is there for a purpose!

I'll start saving for a transmission as well! ha! cuz with a big CSC supercharger or even a $5000 turbo, I'd be blowing trannies all over the place. It would be nice to see a functional hood scoop, however, if you were to do one now, it should be mounted backwards for cooling purposes. Vent the engine cover, cut the hood, put on a hood scoop and use it for engine cooling. But now I am rambling. Never been to a tractor pull. It has a very redneck sounding tone to it, but I have heard there is some serious action at those things!
