Well, i'm in milwaukee now, i think the total milage was somewhere around 360 or 380 miles, either way, my average MPG was 26.8, not bad, but nothin' compared to Jim's. although the road i took was pretty rolly. my average speed was 71 mph, i reset everything right at the gas station, so thats including a little city drivin'.
heh, now that i'm in downtown milwaukee i'm goina have to make sure that i don't bump the trunk release button as i put the keys in my pocket, lol, that'd be real bad. i did that a few times back home, but back in the boonies it doesn't matter nearly as much, heh.
well, off to unpackin', later all.

hehe, umm, it was about 5.5 hours, i was stuck in traffic for about 15 minutes and took a stop at a rest stop to go to the bathroom though, so not quite a straight trip.

Made me laugh ;D As long as you wiped the seatie its all good I'll be taking a road trip to NH next month, so I'll check out what the milage is going to be, I should be able to replicate the 36-37 mpg.

supa, i find it odd that your average speed was 71 mph because of the way the speed is calculated. its nothing like you would think. you would be lucky to get an average speed of 30 mph if you traveled at aconstant 70 mph..
so im gonna say you were hitting 140 the whole way there?

Not if you reset the data as soon as you fill up or start on the hwy. 70mph as an average speed if the DIC possible if you reset to simply calculate hwy factors.
Thats what we did on my trip.
Probably better to make an education guess certain things then to discredit the data.

i agree Jim. if ya think about it, i only drove 3-6 miles at 35-65 mph and the other 360 miles at 74-76 mph then those 3-6 miles wouldn't make too much of a difference.
but yeah, i miss the minnesota gas prices, before i left i paid 1.79 a gallon for premium, i had to pay 2.08 a gallon last night, but i found a place that used 93 octane instead of the 91 octane at like holiday or whatever. i know a few places use 92, thats where i usually try to go.

WHAT??? If you drove a constant speed of 70mph, then your average speed would be exactly 70mph... If you are talking about taking breaks, then you would not be going a constant 70mph. The word "constant" pretty much implies that. If you are including breaks, then if you travelled at 140mph the whole time you were driving, you'd have to take breaks for as long as you spend on the road for your average speed to be 70mph. So if you drove for 2 hours then took a break, you'd have to take a 2 hour break. That said, it is hard to maintain an average speed of 70mph on the road. I usually get about 69-71mph average speeds on trips, and I tend to drive at 75-85 most of the way. The parts when you drive 20-55 mph really kill your average speed.
