I'm curious to see what kind of year-ownership breakdown we've got here now, since there are lots of new members lately. (Note: if you have more than one Aurora, vote for the one you drive the most ) Let's see the numbers! 1 vote for 1999.

Getting close to 1000 members, too. Where's the party to be held?

What if you have an 01, but only because you got stuck with it, and wanted a 99

What if you have an 01, but only because you got stuck with it, and wanted a 99 what do you mean you got stuck with it? I would take the 01 anyday over a 99

My father, who purchased most of the car with me, and provided credit and the such, (I was only 17 when I bought the car, I'm 19 now), said I couldn't get a car from any year other than 2000+ for reliability's sake, despite the fact that we're keeping the car basically forever. Even a 1999 Aurora versus a 2001 wouldn't be compromised, or a Mark VIII with 40k miles, or a Riviera with less than 40k - all for HALF the price of the 2001 Aurora V6 I bought with 57k miles! He's a bit of an idiot sometimes... The 99 Aurora is a much better car than 2001 (not to mention cheaper), but I'm not going to argue any more than that and turn this thread into what a few others have become

Yeah Macaman, we should have a pool on the side for how long it takes for this thread to get into a Classic vs 2nd Gen bash-fest. I say by the middle of the next thread page, we'll have to refer to scotty as "The Troll" from now on. ;D I voted for my 1998 beauty, the best year for Auroras, all other years suck. (Gotta hedge my bet here fellas)

Keep the votes coming, we need all the new members to jump in here so we have the most accurate numbers. If you are a lurker and are afraid to post, just vote for your year and don't make any other comment. We'll never know!

Unforunately, many of those members are likely people who joined to ask 1 or 2 questions and then never returned. But that happens on internet forums... I know I've done that a couple places in the last few years.

2002 REPRESENT i personally like the 2nd generation look the first one looks to much like E.T. from the front it looks to crazy the 2nd gen looks like a car, its got an aggresive stand though but to shorten it up thier both Auroras thier both Oldsmobiles thats good enough for me ;D AK

In my opinion only the first one is an Aurora. The second is a Le Sabre/Bonneville with a dressed up interior and nicer options
