is it definitley 8/5 and if so, what time and place? Um, hmm... Well I thought it was final. If it's not, well that's where I'm going to be. I'll be bringing my Corvette, and perhaps my wife will drive the Aurora up (she's not going to be interested in a 3 hour drive on a 90 degree day in a car with mediocre at best a/c).

I just PMed the people below with this info. If you're not on that list, let me know. Hi everyone, Just in case you can't see everyone I'm sending this to... this message is being sent to: Blondie1483, Rocketv8, Unirok, Omegaic, Vojtazbrna, awagnerjr, Aurora40, stevensolds, lightblurora, Letitroll98, NYsteve, glennS87, kobalt If there are any other people that should get this let me know. NJ ACNA MEET!Date: Saturday, August 5th, 2006 Place: Old Bridge Raceway park, off exit 8A on the NJ Turnpike Time: 12:00 NoonThere's supposed to be the 20th Annual East Coast Corvette Show and Go (9am start) and at 4pm, they have the Corvette vs. GM Trophy Bash. I know a couple of you will be there with your 'Vettes... so I chose noon as a time, but I on't know how crazy it's going to be there and where everyone will be. So: Please respond with a) whether you plan on attending, and b) if the time is good for you. Also, if you're familiar with the event that's going on at the same time, let me know how it's going to be and where we can (or are llowed to) go and park our cars and also walk around and do pictures and stuff. We can grab a bite to eat somewhere too. Thanks! Christine, the self-appointed event coordinator

Steve brought up a good point so I'm going to post it:
I need to know a little more info so i can get some directions. The exact address of the track would help. I've been trying to get directions, and its been a pain in the butt. Also, from the looks of pictures, this place is pretty huge. Where will we all be meeting?

www.racewaypark.com/I imagine there won't be a lot of Auroras there, shouldn't be too hard to find each other...

Yep, I'll be there too.
That is, if I can get some straightforward directions.
And, next question... Is there an admission fee to this place?

i would imagine we would all need to pay the $12.00 general admission fee....when you get to the park, there's a bunch of booths where they collect the fee befoe you can get into the parking lot, so, once we get in we could all look for the other Auroras and park next to each other, which could be hard if its crowded though because of the events that day

We could all meet on a rest stop exit on the NJTP and drive to the event together or at least some of us can mee that way. Thats the way they did it for my friends Cough....Nissan Maxima meet. I was so cool seeing a convoy of the same car going down the road.

excellent idea , !!!! can someone figure out which rest stop is closest

i researched the rest stop locations along the NJ Turnpike....the one closest to the exit for the Raceway, which is also not too far out of the way for any of us going either North or South would be.... Joyce Kilmer Service Area located between exits 8A and 9 on the Northbound side Milepost 78.7 East Brunswick Twp. people coming from the South would need to get off exit 8A to get to the Raceway...people coming from the north, exit 9 this rest area is located between these 2 exits, so everyone would have to pass their exit by a little, but, it seems fair for everyone, and then, we can all go to the track from there what do you all think???

I should be there with my vette and my wife will have the Aurora. Right next to the staging lanes there is a food stand with covered seating. That my be a good place to meet. A40 and I will most likely be in the staging lanes so it would be easy for us to meet up.

I should be there with my vette and my wife will have the Aurora. Yup, me too. I'd like to be there by 9ish, but as it's a 3 hour drive for me, I doubt my wife will be up for that. So it'll probably be more like 10am.

Well.......Not sure I will be able to make it everybody. My Grandfather on my dads side died yesterday and funeral arrangments are in the making. He is in NC so I would have to drive out there from DE which is about 5 hours from me some time this week. Its possible I will be back in time but I just dont know right now.
Eitherway I hope everyone who does make it has a great time and takes lots of pics. Who knows I may surprise you.

Hey guys, I was able to switch Saturdays with someone so I'm coming up. Another place to meet is here: It's right on Rt 33 just 100 yds off the Turnpike. It would save going 'round and 'round on the turnpike, and about the same net mileage for those coming from the North, albeit quite a bit less for those coming from the south, but why should everyone suffer? Anyway, looking forward to it all wherever we meet up.

It's Exit 8, Rt 33, about 100 yds from the pike on the left going toward Englishtown. As far as what time I have no clue. There have been times from 9am to noon thrown out with these times being variously at some meeting place 45 min from the track to at the track. I have the day off so I really don't care and don't want to start throwing out times that wouldn't be right for others. Or meeting places for that matter, I just had the pic from Mom's from our 1st All Jersey Aurora Meet and thought it was kewl as well as convenient. I believe Christine has appointed herself final arbitrator (which is fine by me). Bob and GlennS87 are unlikely to listen to anyone else and will arrive at the time most convenient with their racing plans (which is also fine by me). We could also have several meeting times and places, one for southbounders, one for northbounders, one for racers, etc. All that could be combined with one default meeting place at the track, say noon at such and such refreshment stand (I think one was mentioned). This would accommodate late comers and early arriver's as well as those staying all day and those coming for a shorter period. Noon would be at the later end of the morning's racing brackets so Bob and Glenn will likely have plenty of free time then and I think Blondie had designated that as the official time. So how about anything goes for pre meet line ups, exchange cell numbers and if everyone ends up one or it's all random no problem, but default meeting is at noon under the covered snack area next to the staging lanes?

That's sounds like it's going to be kicking, you all better take lots of pictures, like to see all them Aurora's in one place at the same time.
People are going to think "Is this an Olds gathering?"

I'll be at the track early (probably near gate opening). This event gets a big crowd. My wife will probably follow an hour or two after me and will have the Aurora. Here is a shot of my vette at the track.

Okay that sounds good. To me, at least. The OFFICIAL Aurora meet... We will meet, at noon, at Raceway park, under the covered snack area next to the staging lanes. (I've never been there before either, sooo yeah, no big deal, I'm not worried about getting lost... I'll have my cell phone with me) As for meeting beforehand, that's up to everyone, but I can be at that Mom's place or whatever, I'll say at 11? That's where I'll be. I think too many options have been thrown around at this point, haha, not that that's good or bad, but it just makes it a little confusing to firm up with everyone. So I'll just say, that's where I'll be beforehand. I'll PM everyone my cell phone # ... Are we good?

Sounds good to me. I'll make an attempt to make it to the Diner, but knowing me I'll get horribly lost somewhere. Christine, how good are you with roads in NJ? Can I call you if I get lost, lol?
