Actually the only problem is the little light ball in the one projector that's messed up. That guy that put those yellow HIDs in did not lower his projectors at all, the beam is way too high! I lowered mine and have a nice cutoff below oncoming traffic's eyes

The glare has nothing to do with how they are aimed. Who knows the surface and what incline in those pictures either. Glare is glare is glare. Halogen projectors. Not for HID. Enough said. Not knowing better and doing it is one thing but knowing better and still doing it is another. C'est la vie.

The way a halogen projector works is, typically, either a "laser beam" effect (thus the really concentrated hotspot in the middle and huge lack of width) or a false-width. My Fusion had projectors that had a wide beam pattern, but this beams that there was a ton of dark spots in the beam. The best way I can compare it is by just shining a flashlight lol
Also, halogen projectors naturally have glare because... well, if the didn't, you wouldn't be able to see street signs. It's called a "squirrel finder" over on hidplanet. HID projectors don't need this because the ambient light is enough to light up signs anyways, which means they can focus the light where it needs to be - below the cutoff and on the ground, in a much more even & controlled spread of light.

Sall,
If I do do it, you'll have to point me in the direction of the threads to make the parking lights the DRL, and to make it so the HID's don't flash when using the flash to pass function

You can PM sall & see if he can make you a custom harness, or at least send you the diagram for the one he made (he has the diagram on here somewhere) That would be my advice. actually, here it is:

Not knowing better and doing it is one thing but knowing better and still doing it is another. C'est la vie. Please understand this. Those distance shots were not glare.Factory they have the projectors aimed WAY up. All i did was down mine and i have a cutoff line ON THE GROUND there is no beam at all in anyones eyes!

You still just don't understand. It's okay. Some day.
Good find David! It is really easy to re-route the DRL to either high beam bulb or turn signal bulb. RCA, I can build you a harness; it's whatever!

You dont understand either. Stop criticizing me and everyone else that does a mod you dont like! Spend a month at hidplanet & you'll change your mind & do it the right way. I explained in a post above, very clearly, how halogen/hid projectors work. Just because there is a cutoff doesn't mean anything. Even if you aren't sending the full brunt of your light into their eyes, they're still seeing glare (the nature of a halogen projector) and you're getting abysmal light output. HIDs in a halogen projector/housing, simply put, are not meant to be. You are more than capable than most on here to do a retrofit. In fact, you could easily do a retro for less than $200 I would wager. it would be very easy, because all you would need are projectors/amp-to-d2s adapter and some bulbs. You would have no issue, Dan, making the retro look OEM & getting it done right. To be honest, I'm surprised you haven't, considering the ability you have for all things car-esque..

^ Exactly. You are more than capable to do it the correct way Nelson. You just need to understand how it all works and why it works a bit better.
Anyways, I find it very funny that custom88 was the OP of this thread and he was the one in the end that admitted they were unacceptable. Albeit on a caddilac forum.

It doesent matter what car you drive, at night down the highway someone always turns their brights on thinking you have yours on and you dont, from my Escalade to my Lucerne. I even got brights turned on me from behind cause my back lights were to bright for them.
Nelson if your happy with them then that is all that matters, im happy with mine also.

Everyone else does it, it's okay. Don't worry about other drivers. Soak it in. As David said: www.hidplanet.com

People here need to assess how they are acting and correct the matter, degrading and talking down to people gets us nowhere and will not be tolerated. This thread has gone to crap and is old and being locked. If anyone has issues about headlights and they feel they need to push their beliefs in a rude manner, then take it to personal messaging. Headlights blind people all the time, big friggin deal.
