Btw, on the pic w/ the sunroof drain tube, what is the tube w/ a blue cap plugging it?
I looked but couldn't see where it went....

Nice Job. I'll have to check my upper mounts for the same water issue. I also wondered about the longer bolts on the bottom when I was messy with the fuel filter last Friday. Strange.
As for the wiring with the blue cap, my guess would be that it's for the trunk mounted CD changer that would be located in that area, if installed.

it's not a wire...it's a ~3/8" rubberhose w/ a blue cap in it...nothing inside...

I also wondered about the longer bolts on the bottom when I was messy with the fuel filter last Friday. Strange. Wondered the same thing myself, but it does assist in pulling the shocks down and leaves out some of the guesswork in how far to extend them first. Also, strange that your mount kit didn't have a new nut for the top of the shock - mine did. One other point - the OEM lower bolts are hardened - I think they may have been a 10.9 (metric). Don't know if it matters that much, because I can't imagine that there's a huge amount of stress down there.

good point. I don't think there is any stress down there either. But for arguments sake, the bolt I used is hardened....LOL got lucky there. I think just grade 8 though.
as far as the new nut for the shock mount....I found it...buried in the bottom of the box AFTER I had the passerger side done...so I said screw it, but did use a new one on the drivers side.

Great pics and tips, thanks! I was looking at my shocks while up on the lift doing brakes last weekend. Mine don't look as bad as yours but I suspect they are also the cause of my squirrely ride over some bumps. I'll definitely consider your silicone tip. Did the Monroes mate up with the original air lines or did you have to replace those, too?

The tube with blue cap goes outside the body, what for... no idea. The wires are going to the rear fog lights.
