As mentioned on another thread, the dragstrip we intended to go to is only 1/8 mile long. To do 1/4 mile runs we would have to go to the MOKAN dragway, which is just under 2 hours outside of Springfield.
The question remains: do we want to do this and get 1/4 times, or just do the 1/8 mile track thats a lot closer?
If so, when are we doing it? If we're going on friday then Tyler and I should just meet you guys at the dragway instead of going to Randy's first. If we're doing it another time then I'm okay to caravan there if everyone else wants to, we just need to decide if we want to go 2 hours out of our way to get 1/4 times instead of 1/8 times.

"funny thing is I have family in St. Lousi so it would be an excuse to go out to missouri, but funny thing is they are here in Massachustts this week" that is funny mojo there

Doesn't matter to me either way. To be honest, I haven't done any performance mods to my car and I'm not really worried about how fast it is. I'm fine with 1/8th track just for giggles. But, if you all want to hit the 1/4th that is fine with me as well.

It sucks that you guys can get together and enjoy your aurora's in the company of other's who share your passion for the car...
so what i gather this is a weekend type thing? because my car is itchin for a road trip, with however things work out with school in the fall, i might be able to make it out there.... money and school permitting though.
How would it feel to have someone from up east at a meet? Would it be the first?

They've had meets in Jersey before, but this would be a first to have someone so far east at a Midwest meet, I believe. We'd love to have you if you can make it!

That's not far from aura1, he's in Springfield IL. You could meet up with him possibly, but yeah you should definitely come. This might even be bigger than Auroras in Aurora!

The Rogersville track is a 1/4 mile track. It is just an 1/8 for really fast cars. www.ozarkracewaypark.com/trackinfo/facilitydetails.htmlAnd jj95 it is a weekend event. We are planning on going drag racing Friday night. Then to Aurora, Missouri Saturday morning for a car show. And everyone is welcome to stay Saturday night. I have 10 acres if you like to camp. Or there are hotels close.

Well that solves it then, no need to go to MOKAN. Tyler and I can be at Randy's place by 5pm if we go the speed limit, so expect us about 20 mins before 5 I guess lol. Shall we leave from there?

Sounds great! Hopefully we don't have to be there exactly around 5. I will do some more reading and check it out.

What time are you out of class in the Fall Collins? Out at 11:50, I can be at my mom's house in Overland Park by 1 or a little after. It'll take just just over 3.5 hours to get to Randy's place. I don't know how much you like to drive in a day but if need be you can come Thursday and stay up at KU overnight... its up to you. I still have to attend class on Friday tho so you might be bored!

If all goes according to plan I'll be heading down on Friday AM and just meet up with you wherever we decide on. I'll have class on Thursday night so coming down Thursday isn't a great option, although I can't say I wouldn't mind checking out the campus at KU. Getting excited for the meet again already! And we just had one!

i sent MOKAN a letter and they said they can reserve for us our own lane/track! YW!
Lance,
We would be honored to have the ACNA at Mo-Kan Dragway for one of our Friday Night Fun Drags. We can set a staging lane aside for your members to use. Prices are $7 for spectators (12 & under are free) and $15 to race (that covers the car and driver).
If you have any other questions please email me or call Carl at 417-529-4293.
Thanks, Craig craig@mokandragway.com

Maybe ask them too? lol

do we have to wear helmets? lol I had to wear one when I autox'd the Aurora with SCCA, but this track doesn't require a helmet unless you're running a 14 like LN mentioned. I could probably get a hold of one if we wanted it, Jayhawk Motorsports has a couple extra Arai Quantum-2 helmets that I could borrow. I'll look into it although it would probably be overkill haha

I DO NOT want to wear a helmet, it was a special occasion when I got to take mine off for the midwest meet! ;D
