So I am off to Calgary (171miles) to look at another Aurora - this one for a friend. See how easy it is to convince people these cars are the best!
It's another 2nd Gen. 2001 4.0 White Diamond It is from a dealer and they are asking $10,900. I would like to see them come down to $10K to make this worth the effort. It has ~87000 Miles. Claims it is in mint condition. All the standard options for a well equipped 4L - Moon roof, Wheels etc
I am driving out tomorrow. I can't wait to see these beauties parked side by side!

Get some good photos!! I don't know about everyone else, but $10k seems pretty high for an '01 with that many miles. Although I know prices tend to be inflated north of the border.

Don't forget to check for leaks 10K sounds OK but express that it is a discontinued vehicle parts can be hard to get and expensive be assured they have herd this before but the facts are the facts good luck. Also find out how long they have had it sometimes lots are more willing to go down if its been there a while.

When I bought my car it had the same amount of miles on it. However they were asking $11,999 for it. A long kinda funny story later I got it for 7k cash that night.

A '98 is selling for $5000 with about 90K Miles right now
There are only 4 for sale in all of Alberta. In this area 10K is about low end average price. The other one we looked at was 13K, had less mileage but not that much. The dealer said he would not move on the price.
eBay is not an option for this guy, he does not want to travel to find one, however if I found one through the ACNA he would consider. It's just too much hassle to find a car; having it looked over like you would critique a car and then go there and find out they weren't completely honest or something. Just too much work.
I have already considered one of those FL Cadillacs for my daily driver. Cant beat a < $8000 caddy. But right now I am too busy with intermittent work and other priorities
ScottyDL: Rest assured there will be many pictures! I will have my 7.1mp Canon with me!

I always try to bargain I paid 10,800 for 2002 w/ 62,000 miles. All depends on the area really whats cheap one place doesn't mean its gonna be cheap everywhere.

Sounds like a fun trip skiiirt. Find out how long they have had the car. You may be able to bargain some if it has been on the lot awhile. Especially this time of year.

This was a trip of epic proportions! 1 New Aurora, $264 for speeding x2, 14 hours later It turns out to be a small time dealer. Either way they have the car we want. The car is pretty dirty. Surprising. However it appears to be in good shape. There is a problem with the rear window switch, however there is a new one on order. Missing Emblem On the way home I decided we should make a pit stop at Olds Alberta. It was a beautiful day We also came across some beauties on the road! btw - I like your sig pic. Thanks man! I had fun making it! And one more.. For those interested in the Olds Sign

They both have On-Star antennas, so... Well I took a better look and I noticed that the antenna was in the down position on the new car. Additionally it has mud flaps. So I'm thinkin Skiiirt has the papa.

Good to see a pair of 2001 4.0s. Mine is an 02 but ya it's cool to see them side by side. I also think it would have looked pretty funny seeing both of us pulled over by the po-po handing out speeding tickets That white diamond color is real nice, are you going to keep both of them? man o man, I wish i had a 4.0 As I said in the first post. This one is for a friend.

Either way they took my money and 4 demerits onto my license. BTW thanks for editing that pic of our cars at timmys. I nearly spit the contents of my drink all over the screen upon loading that image. HAHA CLASSIC

I think the one with the tints is the male. Males tend to hide things inside for long periods of time, eventually they roll down their windows...
We call them P0-P0s too, it's a "gangster" term, like the 5-0. County mounty and smokies are terms that I got familiar with in the trucking community as I was a fellow bubble gummer (kid). I also see a lot of it in, you guessed it, Smokey and the Bandit!

The emblem on the front was missing when purchased. It has the rear emblems. Not the gold package, like mine

Sounds like a good trip man, I'm about to make a run down to Lethbridge, then Calgary then Red Deer, have some shows to play and, being the one with the nicest and most dependable car in the band, (and due to the fact that the promoter is paying ALL of our gas) the Aurora is the natural choice.
