I had to remove the front door panel to replace a speaker, so I though that I would contribute a brief writeup on how to remove the door panel. The good news on removing the front door (driver or passenger) panel is that it is very easy on a Classic Aurora. Compared to other cars that have hidden screws, pop in plastic retainers that require special tools, clips that break and other frustrating things, removing the front door panel on an Aurora is a breeze.
Step 1: Remove the two screws at the bottom of the door right below where the “carpet” part of the panel is. There are only two, and they are 7mm.
Step 2: In the recessed area where the chrome door handle is located, use a small screwdriver to pop out the small plastic cover in the center of the door handle well. This cover has two tabs and is about the size of your fingernail. Then remove the one screw behind the cover with a Phillips screwdriver.
Step 3: Pry out the larger plastic door handle well cover with a screwdriver. This should be easy, as it pops right out. This is all that you have to remove to get the panel off.
Step 5: Lift the door panel vertically upward about 1 inch by grabbing the bottom of the door and the armrest. It should slide upward without a lot of force. Now, pull it outward and it should be free, except for the electrical cables.
Step 6: Disconnect the electrical cables. The drivers side has 3 and the passenger side has 4. They are all color coded so that you will know how to put them back. You will need a small screwdriver to pry back the retaining tabs while you are pulling the connectors apart.
Done.

Yep this is about right. I wouldn't use a screwdriver to pop out the handle trim though, it cracks easily. You usually can pull it out by hand.
